Get Involved
Volunteers are at the heart of Hollin Hills and we need all kinds of skills! Not to mention that volunteering is a great way to get to know your Hollin Hills neighbors with similar interests beyond your block.
CAHH is always looking for volunteers to help out with events and the parks, to serve as greeters and board members and for special projects. Here is a sample of the types of roles/projects and skills we need:
- Civic Association Board (requires business acumen and willingness to learn all about HH)
- Parks Warden (requires willingness to get your hands dirty and to learn about our parks)
- Greeter (requires an outgoing nature and willingness to actually talk to your neighbors)
- Social Events (requires planning and assisting at social events including set up and take down)
- Communication (requires writing/photography/editing/design & layout skills to produce HH Bulletin, website, social media content)
- Design Review Committee (requires an interest in protecting what makes Hollin Hills unique -- its architecture)
- Mt Vernon Council of Community Associations (MVCCA) Committees (requires going to MVCCA committee meetings, reporting back to the Board Liaison, and committee work. Committees include Education, Environment & Recreation, Planning & Zoning, Public Safety, Transportation, Affordable Housing, and Budget & Finance.)
- Technology (requires knowledge of technology and/or software administration, particularly desirable skills Google admin, WildApricot, QuickBooks Online)
- Financial and Risk Management (requires knowledge of financial management and/or risk analysis and management)
- House + Garden Tour Planning (requires event planning, fundraising/sponsorship management skills)
- House + Garden Tour Day Of (docents, traffic directors, registration desk, etc.)
